I am running to be your business manager in 2026.  I joined the IBEW for a sense of belonging, the highest wages and best healthcare available, pension and stability for myself and my family.  I grew up in a proud union household, and I wanted to carry that tradition on.  Up until recently I was your Chief of Staff.  I proudly accepted that position almost 3 years ago.  Several months ago, that pride started to decline.  I know you deserve better. I know you deserve better healthcare.  It’s almost 2026 and you don’t have dental insurance.  How is that possible, how is that ok?  You have some card that you have to use that gets declined, shut off, you have to pay funds back or provide mountains of paperwork.  Brothers and Sisters, you work too hard and too long to be dealing with that. I know you deserve better communication.  The membership should not go weeks without hearing from their leadership.  You should never be out on the jobsite and feel like you have no idea what’s going on at the local.  You should always be informed and always have a conduit to the leadership to ask questions and raise concerns AND get a response.  You should never be out in the field and not be able to get ahold of your leadership.  If you call your administration, they need to answer and at the very least call you back.  There are departments that if they don’t have the manpower to answer the phone, we need to get them the resources to do so.  The administration works for the membership, and that has been lost. I know you deserve better transparency and clarity of what’s going on with your local and the IBEW.  Do you all know of the 12k man hour organizing policy? This is an organizing policy that was passed by the i.o. It states that if an electrical worker comes in the 12k verifiable work hours they are able to join the IBEW.  Now there are some things that a local can do in order to maintain our standards, but the administration has to be willing to put in the work.  I explain that to say, are you aware of the new category 1 language that is coming in the next cba? Cat 1 language is language that is passed by the i.o. that is in every ibew cba.  The local does not have a choice.  But so long as an administration is proactive and not reactive, they can get in front of it and have solutions to navigate the changes. So, the new language states that if you have 12k hours in the trade you will qualify for group 1 status, which is book 1 when taking a call.  This is going in our next cba. Once again there are moves a local can make to maintain our standards but the local has to be willing to put in the work. I tell you this because you deserve to know.  If it’s happening with IBEW and your local, you deserve to know.  In my administration if we know you will know.  I do not think information should be used as currency, I do not think knowledge should be weaponized. I believe that our members should be the most knowledgeable in the IBEW.  I know you deserve better Representation.  The administration should be as diverse as our local.  We should make it a priority to make sure every demographic in our local is represented. Your representatives should be working for you.  We should be setting up stewards. We should be visiting jobsites.  You can’t fight for your membership if you don’t see and feel what your membership is going through and dealing with. My administration will fight for you. My administration will represent you!  If you feel like your voice was taken away, I want to be your business manager.  If you feel like your phone calls, emails, concerns are not being answered, I want to be your business manager.  If you feel things aren’t being told to you, I want to be your business manager.
